Best Things to Do in Los Angeles in February 2026

I’ve always thought of LA as one of those places I’d choose in winter, simply because the weather feels like a reset, with highs of around 21 degrees even when the UK is freezing.
The city also doesn’t feel as chaotic than peak summer and there’s a surprising amount going on if you know where to look. From Valentine’s themed movie nights to Lunar New Year celebrations, there’s plenty happening across the city. If you’re planning a trip and wondering what’s actually worth doing, this guide rounds up the best things to do in Los Angeles in February.

Beverly Hills Hotel x La La Land Kind Café Collaboration

Beverly Hills Hotel x La La Land Kind Café Collaboration
Beverly Hills Hotel x La La Land Kind Café Collaboration 2

Two of my favourite LA brands have collided and it’s not a dream. The Beverly Hills Hotel and La La Land Kind Café have teamed up for a limited edition collaboration running throughout February and it feels very on brand for Los Angeles.

The collaboration features two special drinks, the Iced Strawberry Fields Matcha Latte and the Iced Strawberry Cloud Matcha Latte, available at The Beverly Hills Hotel and all La La Land Kind Café locations nationwide. There is also a range of co branded products including hats, mugs, tumblers and totes, which you can find at The Beverly Hills Hotel Signature Shop and La La Land cafés.

If you want to take it a step further, the hotel is offering exclusive matcha moments made with La La Land matcha throughout February. This includes brown sugar matcha soufflés at the Polo Lounge during dinner service only, as well as matcha martinis at the Cabana Cafe and Fountain Coffee Room.

Dates: February 3rd to 28th

Watch When Harry Met Sally at Dynasty Typewriter

If you want a Valentine’s plan that feels fun and not overly serious, this event is hard to beat. Dynasty Typewriter is hosting a special screening of When Harry Met Sally that is much more than just sitting in a theatre. The night includes themed costumes, karaoke, audience participation moments and a general sense that everyone there is in on the joke. You are encouraged to dress up and think late 1980s New York, big coats, cable knits and strong opinions about love. There’s also a post show love song karaoke and playful interactive moments that make it the perfect place to be with the girls.

My favourite travel tip

Lady and the Tramp at the El Capitan Theatre

Lady and the Tramp at the El Capitan Theatre

Seeing a classic Disney film at the El Capitan is always special and February is the perfect time for it. Lady and the Tramp is screening for one week only and the experience includes restored visuals, themed photo opportunities and optional dinner packages that take all the planning out of the night. It’s a great option if you are visiting LA or want a nostalgic evening that feels timeless and relaxed. The Sweetheart Dinner and a Movie package includes dinner at Miceli’s Italian Restaurant which makes this an easy date night or girls night plan without having to think too hard.

Dates: February 12th to February 18th 2026
Price: $14 tickets, $75 dinner package
Location: El Capitan Theatre, Hollywood

Rooftop Movies at the Montalbán

Rooftop Movies at the Montalbán_

Rooftop season does not really end in LA and February proves it. The Montalbán’s Valentine’s Rooftop Movie Pop Up brings iconic romantic films like The Notebook and La La Land to an open air rooftop setting with city views, a full bar and food options including Wagyu burgers, city dogs and popcorn. Doors open early so you can settle in, grab a drink and make a full evening of it. It feels romantic without being too much and works just as well for friend groups as it does for couples.

Dates: February 13th to February 14th 2026
Price: start from $29
Location: The Montalbán Rooftop, Hollywood

127th Annual Golden Dragon Parade

LA County Dragon Boat Festival at Marina Del Rey

One of the most vibrant cultural events of the month, the Golden Dragon Parade brings Lunar New Year celebrations to the heart of Chinatown. The streets fill with lion and dragon dances, marching bands, floats and performers representing different Asian cultures. Around the parade route you’ll find food vendors selling dumplings, skewers and traditional desserts which makes it easy to spend a full afternoon here. It is family friendly, free to attend and one of those events that really shows how diverse and layered Los Angeles is.

Date: February 21st 2026, 1pm to 4pm
Price: free with paid grandstand seating available
Location: Chinatown Central Plaza and North Broadway

Lunar New Year at South Coast Botanic Garden

For a calmer and more scenic way to celebrate Lunar New Year, the South Coast Botanic Garden offers a beautiful alternative to busy street festivals. The gardens feature themed installations, cultural programming and plenty of space to wander at your own pace. It’s a great option if you want something relaxed, visually stunning and easy to pair with a daytime plan.

Lunar New Year at Walt Disney Concert Hall

Lunar New Year at Walt Disney Concert Hall

This Lunar New Year performance at Walt Disney Concert Hall is an elegant way to celebrate the season. The programme features string quartet arrangements of Chinese folk melodies alongside performances by members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The evening celebrates the Year of the Horse through music that feels both traditional and modern.

My 3 Favourite Hotels in Los Angeles

Lunar New Year at the L.A. Zoo

Lunar New Year at the L.A. Zoo

The L.A. Zoo’s Lunar New Year celebration is one of the most unique events in the city. It’s included with zoo admission and the weekend features cultural dance performances, calligraphy demonstrations, zodiac themed animal talks, special feedings and interactive activities like fan decorating and a Wall of Well Wishes. It is surprisingly fun for adults and a great daytime option if you want something festive but different from the usual February plans.

Dates: February 21st to February 22nd 2026, 10AM to 4PM
Price: Free with paid zoo admission
Location: Los Angeles Zoo

Attune 1.0 Light and Sound Experience

Attune 1.0 is a free public art experience designed to connect communities across Los Angeles through synchronised sound and light. Multiple parks across LA County will host speaker arrays and light sculptures, all playing at the same time and creating a shared moment across the city. It is calm, immersive and very much about slowing down and being present. I would recommend bringing a blanket, a chair and something warm before settling in for a collective experience that feels thoughtful and different from anything else happening this month.

Date: February 14th 2026
Price: Free
Location: Multiple locations across LA County

Museums Free For All Day

Museums Free For All Day

One of the best free things to do in Los Angeles in February (in my opinion) is the Museums Free For All which returns for one Sunday only. Museums across Southern California open their doors with free general admission, giving you the chance to visit world class institutions without the usual ticket prices. While entry is free, many museums require advance reservations and parking fees still apply, so planning ahead is key. Price: Free general admission
Location: Multiple museums across Los Angeles and Southern California
