Cook’s Club Kolymbia Review – My Honest Review Before It Went Viral on TikTok

If you have seen Cook’s Club Kolymbia all over TikTok and you are wondering if it is actually worth booking, this Cook’s Club Kolymbia review is my genuine take from staying there before it went viral. I visited in June, which is peak season, and it ended up being one of those hotels that instantly makes you feel like you are on holiday the second you arrive. In this review I’m going to break down exactly what it was like staying here in real life, what the rooms and pools were actually like in peak season, how the location works if you want to explore Rhodes, and the little details that make the difference when you’re deciding if a hotel is worth the money.

Quick verdict

Would I stay again? Yes and I recommend it to anyone planning a girls trip to Rhodes because it gives you the best of both worlds. You can fully relax here without leaving the hotel but you can also explore the island easily if you hire a car. Cook’s Club Kolymbia is best for you if you want a hotel with great pools, a mountain backdrop that makes everything feel a bit unreal and a location that is actually really practical for seeing different parts of Rhodes.

The room I booked (and why)

The main reason I booked it is the reason I book most hotels. I will always choose a place for the view and Cook’s Club Kolymbia is all about the mountain view. Hands down it did not disappoint and if anything it looked even better in real life (if that’s even possible). The whole vibe felt more like Palm Springs rather than Rhodes and I loved that. If you are going to book this hotel, the mountain view is the main character, so I do recommend selecting it when you book if you have the option. The best part is you still get those mountain views around the hotel anyway, especially by the pools, but having it from your room just makes the whole stay feel more special.

What I paid (and whether it’s worth it)

I stayed for 4 nights on bed and breakfast and I booked it as a package with lastminute.com flying from Manchester. For two adults, the flight + hotel came to £992 in June which is peak season. If you are looking at booking now, you can often find the hotel from around £135 per night, which I think is really good value for what you are getting, especially considering the aesthetic, the pools and the overall experience.

Location (honestly it’s one of the best bases in Rhodes)

Kallithea Springs, Greece

You will hear people say Kolymbia is in the middle of nowhere, but I genuinely think it is one of the best locations in Rhodes because it sits in the middle of everything you will actually want to do.

From here, it was about:

  • 30 minutes to Rhodes Old Town
  • 30 minutes to Lindos
  • 15 to 20 minutes to Faliraki if you want an evening out for dinner

That middle ground location meant we could explore properly without spending the whole trip driving.

Should you hire a car?

Yes I recommend it, especially if you want to see more of the island. The best part is you can hire a car directly from the hotel, which makes it so easy and takes away the hassle of organising it separately.

The beach and what’s nearby

One thing I loved is how easy it is to mix pool days and beach days here. Kolymbia Beach is only about a 3 to 4 minute walk away, so you can do a lazy morning by the pool and still be on the beach shortly after. The sand at Kolymbia Beach is also super soft, which is worth knowing if you are picky about beaches.

There is also a small convenience shop right outside the hotel which sounds minor but was genuinely so handy for grabbing water, snacks and little essentials (I left my hair brush at home and luckily the shop had one that I could buy).

Facilities (the pools, the view and why it went viral)

The hotel has two pools and plenty of sun loungers and even in peak season it still felt like there was space. The reason it stands out though is the mountain view behind the pools. Swimming with that backdrop is one of those holiday moments that feels expensive even when you have not paid a ridiculous price. The overall atmosphere is very “cool holiday” rather than family resort. There is a poolside bar for drinks and there is usually a DJ in the evening, which gives it a fun vibe without it feeling like a full party hotel. There is also an outdoor gym which is a nice extra if you like keeping your routine while you travel. I also rented bikes from Casa Cooks (the hotel next door) which cost me €12 for 3 hours and used it to explore Kolymbia which was a nice way to see the island.

Food and drink (breakfast + on-site restaurants)

Breakfast was one of my favourite parts of the stay and I am glad we did bed and breakfast because it made mornings effortless. There was loads of choice and it was the kind of breakfast where you can actually eat well without feeling like you are having the same thing every day. The omelette station was great, there was lots of fresh fruit and the coffee was actually really good!

In terms of food options on site, you don’t have to leave the hotel if you don’t want to. There is the main dining area where breakfast is served and they usually do Greek cuisine in the evenings. There is also an Asian street food style restaurant that does things like noodles, bao buns and sushi. We ate there on the first night and it was genuinely delicious, I had the pad Thai and I would definitely recommend it.

There is also an Italian option where you can get pizza, pasta and ice cream, plus the poolside bar for drinks throughout the day.

If you want to keep everything super easy you can also choose a board option like half board, but bed and breakfast worked perfectly for us because we still wanted freedom to explore.

What I loved about Cooks Club Kolmybia

Cook’s Club Kolymbia pool view

The mountain view was the big one. It made the whole hotel feel special from the minute we arrived and the pools with that mountain backdrop were genuinely stunning.I also loved that it felt like you were in Palm Springs rather than Rhodes. The design, the vibe, the whole atmosphere felt very curated.

Breakfast was another highlight because it removed the daily “where are we eating” debate and let us start the day properly. Finally the location was perfect for seeing more of Rhodes because it sits between Old Town and Lindos and having car hire available through the hotel made everything easy.

What to know before you book

If you want to be in the centre of a busy town with nightlife right outside the door, Cook’s Club Kolymbia is not that. It is more of a destination hotel, where you relax and then drive out to explore. Also because it has gone viral it can book up quickly in summer so if you want peak season dates I wouldn’t leave it last minute.
